Toshkent Axborot Texnologiyalari Universiteti

Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (TUIT) was founded in 1955 as the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications. It was the first and only university in Central Asia to train communication engineers.

At its founding, the institute had two faculties and five departments. It offered a five-year program in communication engineering. The first graduates graduated in 1960.

In the 1960s, the institute began to expand its offerings to include new fields such as computer science and telecommunications. It also began to offer postgraduate programs.

In the 1970s, the institute opened correspondence faculty base stations in several other Central Asian cities. This made it possible for students from all over the region to study at TUIT without having to move to Tashkent.

In the 1980s, the institute continued to grow and develop. It opened new faculties and departments, and it began to offer doctoral programs.

In the 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, TUIT became a state university. It also began to develop international ties with universities and companies around the world.

In 2002, the university was renamed Tashkent University of Information Technologies. This reflected the university's expanded focus on information technology.

Today, TUIT is one of the leading universities in Uzbekistan in the field of information technology.

TUIT is also a major center for research and development in the field of information technology. The university has several research centers and laboratories that are working on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cybersecurity.

TUIT plays an important role in the development of the digital economy in Uzbekistan. The university graduates are in high demand by leading IT companies in Uzbekistan and around the world.
