National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTUU KPI) is a public technological university located in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The history of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTUU KPI) dates back to 1898, when it was founded as the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Emperor Alexander II. The institute was founded at the initiative of a group of sugar mill workers in the southwest regions of the Russian Empire. With the active support of the head of the Kyiv exchange committee, N. Hryakov, a subscription was opened for donation-raising.

The institute opened its doors to students in 1902, and by 1910 it had already become one of the leading technical universities in the Russian Empire. The institute offered programs in engineering, architecture, and chemistry.

During the First World War, the institute was evacuated to Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It returned to Kyiv in 1918, after the end of the war.

During the Soviet era, the institute continued to grow and develop. It became a major center for engineering education and research in the USSR. The institute's graduates played a key role in the development of the Soviet space program and other important industries.

In 1991, Ukraine gained independence from the Soviet Union. The Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was renamed the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" in honor of its famous alumnus, Igor Sikorsky, the inventor of the helicopter.
