Makerere University Business School

Makerere University Business School located in Kampala, Uganda, is one of the leading business and management education institutions in the East African region.

Established in 1997 as a constituent college of Makerere University, it was formed to address the increasing demand for business and management education in Uganda. Initially, MUBS operated as a merger of the Faculty of Commerce at Makerere University and the National College of Business Studies, Nakawa. The institution was granted autonomy in 2000 while maintaining an affiliation with Makerere University for the award of degrees. This partnership allowed MUBS to establish itself as a center for business and entrepreneurial studies, catering to a growing population of students eager to pursue careers in management, finance, marketing, and related fields.

MUBS has since expanded significantly, offering a broad range of academic programs that include certificates, diplomas, undergraduate degrees, and postgraduate studies. Its curriculum emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the dynamic global business environment.
