ISBAT University, formerly known as the International School of Business and Technology, is a private university located in Kampala, Uganda.
The university was founded in 2005 as a post-secondary institution, initially affiliated with Sikkim Manipal University of India. This collaboration allowed the university to offer programs and award degrees conferred by the Indian institution. The partnership played a vital role in laying a solid academic foundation and fostering international educational standards. It also provided the university with an opportunity to build its reputation as a reliable center for higher education in Uganda. In 2013, the university achieved a significant milestone by being granted the status of an "Other Degree Awarding Institution" (ODAI). This empowered it to independently award its own degrees, marking a crucial step towards academic autonomy. This achievement was a reflection of the institution’s commitment to academic quality and its growing capability to manage its programs. It also signaled a new era of innovation and academic expansion, allowing it to tailor its offerings to meet local and regional needs.
The year 2015 witnessed the university's relocation to its current state-of-the-art metropolitan campus. This move provided a modern and conducive learning environment for its students and faculty. The new campus features cutting-edge facilities, including advanced lecture halls, research centers, and recreational amenities. It has since become a symbol of the university’s progress and its vision for fostering academic excellence. Finally, in 2016, the university reached a pinnacle in its development by being elevated to a fully-fledged university status. This recognition by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (UNCHE) solidified its position as a leading institution of higher learning in the country. It also enhanced its ability to attract talented students and faculty from across the region. Today, the university continues to build on its achievements, striving to contribute meaningfully to education, research, and community development.
