International University of East Africa

International University of East Africa is a private university located in Kampala, Uganda.

The institution's story began in 2006 with a vision to establish a premier private university in Uganda, one that would contribute significantly to the nation's development by providing high-quality, globally recognized education.  The initial groundwork involved meticulous planning and the acquisition of necessary licenses and approvals from the Ugandan National Council for Higher Education.  Finally, in 2010, that vision materialized, and the institution opened its doors to its first cohort of students. From its inception, the focus was on creating a learning environment that fostered innovation, critical thinking, and practical skills.  The founders believed in a holistic approach to education, one that went beyond textbooks and lectures, emphasizing experiential learning and industry engagement.  This philosophy led to the development of programs designed to meet the evolving needs of the job market, ensuring graduates were well-prepared for successful careers.

The early years were marked by rapid growth and development.  New academic programs were introduced, attracting a diverse student body from across Uganda and beyond.  The institution invested heavily in building state-of-the-art facilities, including modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a comprehensive library.  A dedicated faculty, comprising experienced academics and industry professionals, was assembled to provide students with the best possible learning experience. As the institution grew, it established partnerships with various organizations, both locally and internationally. These collaborations provided students with valuable opportunities for internships, research projects, and exchange programs, broadening their horizons and enhancing their global perspective.  The institution also actively engaged with the local community, participating in various outreach programs and initiatives.

Over the years, the institution has solidified its reputation as a leading private university in Uganda.  It has received numerous accolades and recognitions for its academic excellence, research contributions, and commitment to community engagement.  The institution continues to evolve, adapting to the changing educational landscape and striving to provide its students with a transformative learning experience that prepares them for leadership roles in the 21st century.  It remains committed to its founding vision of providing quality education that empowers individuals and contributes to the development of Uganda and the wider East African region.
