Silpakorn University

Silpakorn University is a national university in Thailand.

Silpakorn University boasts a rich history deeply entrenched in the artistic heritage of Thailand. Founded in 1943 as the School of Fine Arts by Corrado Feroci, who later became known as Silpa Bhirasri, the university was initially envisioned as a center for nurturing Thai artistic talent. Silpa Bhirasri, a sculptor of Italian origin, played a pivotal role in reviving traditional Thai art forms and shaping the artistic landscape of the country.

In 1946, the school transformed into Silpakorn University, officially becoming Thailand's first institution dedicated to fine arts education. However, the university's vision extended beyond just the visual arts. Throughout the years, it strategically expanded its academic offerings. The 1960s saw the introduction of sub-specializations within existing faculties, catering to Thailand's growing academic needs. The turn of the millennium witnessed a significant diversification with the establishment of faculties like Animal Sciences and Agricultural Technology, Management Science, and Information and Communication Technology. Today, Silpakorn University is a well-rounded institution offering a diverse range of programs across various disciplines.
