Maejo University

Maejo University is a public university located in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

The seeds of Maejo University were sown in 1934 with the establishment of the "School of Agriculture of Montfort College."  Driven by the vision to improve Thailand's agricultural sector, the school focused on providing practical knowledge and skills to students. In 1943, it underwent a significant transformation, becoming the "College of Agriculture."  This marked a crucial step towards its evolution into a full-fledged university. 

Following World War II, the institution continued to flourish. In 1965, it earned its current designation as "Maejo University," signifying its comprehensive academic offerings beyond just agriculture. Today, the university remains a leader in agricultural research and education, while also encompassing a diverse range of disciplines.

Maejo University's motto, "งานหนักไม่เคยฆ่าคน" (jaan nang mai khee khaa kon), translates to "Hard Work Never Kills Anyone."
