Khon Kaen University (KKU) is a public research university located in Khon Kaen, Thailand. It is the first institution of higher education in the northeastern region of Thailand and remains the oldest and most competitive university in the region.
Khon Kaen University was established in 1964 as the first university in the northeastern region of Thailand. The university was founded with the mission to provide high-quality education and research opportunities to the people of the region and to contribute to the development of the region.
In the early years, KKU offered a limited number of programs in agriculture, engineering, and science. However, the university quickly expanded its offerings, and by the 1970s, it was offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines.
KKU has a long and distinguished history. It has played a major role in the development of the northeastern region of Thailand and has become one of the leading universities in the country.
