Assumption University of Thailand, also known as AU, is a private, Catholic, research university located in Bangkok, Thailand.

The roots of Assumption University of Thailand reach back to 1969, when it began as Assumption Commercial College. This first iteration focused on preparing students for the business world. Soon after, in 1972, it received official recognition as Assumption Business Administration College (ABAC). This marked a shift towards a more comprehensive business education, and in 1973, the college welcomed its first female students, breaking new ground in Thai higher education.

By 1990, AU had blossomed into a full-fledged university, recognized by the Ministry of University Affairs. This milestone signified the institution's commitment to diverse academic fields beyond business, with new schools and programs emerging in various disciplines. Through the years, AU has consistently grown and evolved, maintaining its Catholic values while fostering a vibrant international community.
