Tishreen University, also known as October University, is a public university located in Latakia, Syria. It is the third-largest university in Syria.
Tishreen University was founded in 1971 under the name of the University of Latakia. The name was changed in 1975 to honor the memory of the October War (Tishreen War in Arabic).
The university began its operations with three faculties: Arts and Humanities, Science, and Agriculture.
Tishreen University has played an important role in the development of Syria, and its graduates have made significant contributions to the country in a variety of fields. The university is also a major center of research and innovation, and its work has helped to advance knowledge in a number of disciplines.
