The University of Science & Technology (UST) in Omdurman, Al-Khartoum, Sudan is a private university.
The history of the University of Science & Technology (UST) in Omdurman, Al-Khartoum, Sudan can be traced back to 1902, when the Khartoum Technical School and School of Commerce was founded. In 1932, the School of Radiology was added, followed by the School of Design in 1946. In 1950, all of these schools merged to form the Khartoum Technical Institute (KTI).
In 1975, the KTI was upgraded to a polytechnic college, and in 1985, it was renamed the Sudan Polytechnic College. In 1995, the college was granted university status and became the University of Science & Technology (UST).
UST has also become a leading center for research and innovation in Sudan. The university has established several research centers and institutes, including the Data Science Research Center, the Al Moataz Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Al-Brier Cultural Center. UST also has a strong partnership with the industry, which provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience and skills.
Today, UST is one of the most prestigious universities in Sudan. It is known for its academic excellence, its strong focus on research and innovation, and its commitment to producing graduates who are ready to make a difference in the world.
