The International University of Africa (IUA) is a private university in Khartoum, Sudan.
The history of the International University of Africa (IUA) can be traced back to 1977, when the Islamic African Centre (IAC) was established in Khartoum, Sudan. The IAC was founded with the financial support of Saudi Arabia and other Arab states of the Persian Gulf. The goal of the IAC was to train preachers and educate young African Muslims in the Salafist interpretation of Islam.
In 1992, the military government of Colonel Omar al-Bashir upgraded the IAC to the International University of Africa. The IUA was granted a full university charter by the Sudanese government. The IUA expanded its academic offerings beyond Islamic studies to include a variety of other fields, such as education, science, and engineering.
