Kwangju Women's University, located in Gwangju, South Korea, was founded in 1920 with the mission of educating women to encourage their empowerment.

As an educational institution, it is a private university that has a long standing tradition of allowing women to develop their academic skills, professional abilities, and leadership prospects, in several different ways, so that they can pursue their higher education while accepting the changing demands that society needs today.
