Chungbuk Health & Science University

Chungbuk Health & Science University (CHSU) is located in Cheongju, South Korea, and is a private university.

The university was established in 1990 as Jusung Institute to deliver quality education across a variety of disciplines. In 1991, it was officially authorized to create Jusung College and the academic journey officially began. The first president at the college was Dr. Han Won-young and played a pivotal role in establishing the early foundation of the college. By the end of the first semester, the college was ready to welcome its first cohort of students who were interested in higher education. In 1993, it established its first industry-commissioned education agreement with Daenong Co., Ltd. which served as a strong linkage between the university and the business sector. This agreement allowed students to experience their education in a practical manner, connecting classroom learning to applied learning in a professional environment. The next year, the university celebrated its first graduation ceremony underscoring another important event in the university's emerging years of success in higher education.

In 1995, the university expanded its programs and began offering a social education center for a number of learners. In 1996, the university began offering a language school to enhance its educational offerings. In 1997, the university was recognized for excellence in the field of information and communications. The university has always contributed to staying ahead of technological and academic progression. In 1998, the university changed its name to Jusung University to capture an emerging vision and identity. By 2005, the institution attained approval to become a comprehensive university in order to expand its programs and disciplines. The university also changed its name to Chungbuk Health & Science University to better align its identity with the mission of offering educational programs in health, science and technology to enhance its identity as an educational institution.
