Ajou Motor College

Ajou Motor College is a private technical college in Boryeong, South Korea.

The college opened in 1995 as Daecheon Technical College (대천전문대학). It was established by the Daewoo Educational Foundation, which is affiliated with the Daewoo conglomerate, a major player in South Korea’s industrial landscape. At the time, training was provided for about 400 students in automotive and electronic fields, which were essential areas for the country’s growing economy. The college quickly gained recognition for its specialized focus on technical education, meeting the demand for skilled professionals in these industries. The college's name was changed to Daecheon University in 1998 and then to Ajou Motor College in 2004. The name change reflected the institution’s growing focus on the automotive sector, in line with the strategic rebranding efforts of the Daewoo Group. During this period, the college also added new programs and expanded its facilities, allowing it to better serve an increasing number of students. In 2006, the college opened a new campus in Boryeong City, located on a 1.5 million square meter site. The new campus is home to state-of-the-art facilities, including a large automotive workshop and a fleet of vehicles that provide hands-on learning opportunities for students. This expansion allowed the college to accommodate more students and offer enhanced learning experiences, strengthening its position as a leader in automotive education. The new location also provided room for future growth and development, ensuring the college could continue to meet the needs of the evolving automotive industry. Today, Ajou Motor College is one of the leading automotive colleges in South Korea, with a reputation for producing highly skilled graduates. The college offers a variety of programs in the automotive industry, including automotive engineering, automotive design, and automotive management, ensuring students are prepared for diverse career opportunities.
