New Era University

New Era University is a private educational institution in the Philippines, run by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). It is a non-sectarian university with its main campus at New Era, Quezon City, within the Central Office Complex of the INC.

New Era University, originally founded as the New Era Educational Institute (NEEI), has its roots deeply intertwined with the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), a prominent religious organization in the Philippines. The establishment of NEEI was a visionary endeavor of the INC, aiming to provide quality education to its members and the general public. The year 1975 marked the birth of NEEI, initially situated in the bustling district of Quiapo, Manila. This modest beginning laid the foundation for what would later become a renowned university, and the institution's name, "New Era," reflected the aspirations of the INC to usher in a new era of educational excellence and community service.

As the INC continued to grow and prosper, so too did NEEI. The institution's reputation for academic excellence and commitment to holistic development attracted a growing number of students from diverse backgrounds. Recognizing the need for more space and resources to accommodate this influx, the INC decided to relocate NEEI to a larger campus. In 1987, NEEI moved to its current location in New Era, Quezon City. The new campus, situated within the Central Office Complex of the INC, provided a conducive environment for learning and growth, complete with ample facilities, modern classrooms, and dedicated faculty who were passionate about nurturing students.

In recognition of its expanding academic programs and significant contributions to higher education, NEEI was granted university status in 1995. This transformation from institute to university marked a significant milestone in the institution's history, enhancing its credibility and academic standing. The name was officially changed to New Era University (NEU), signifying its broader scope and higher educational aspirations, as well as its commitment to adapting to the evolving needs of students and society.

Beyond its academic endeavors, NEU has been actively involved in community engagement and service. The university has implemented various outreach programs aimed at addressing the needs of the surrounding communities, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility. These initiatives include educational assistance, health services, and environmental conservation efforts, demonstrating NEU’s dedication to making a positive impact on society. Through its community engagement initiatives, NEU has not only enhanced its educational mission but has also established itself as a vital partner in the development and well-being of the local communities it serves.
