Cavite State University Main Campus, commonly known as Don Severino Delas Alas Campus, is located in Indang, Cavite, the Philippines.
The history of the university traces its roots to the first half of 1900. Meanwhile, in the year 1904, a primary school was established in Indang, Cavite, under the American colonial government. This school later became a secondary school to educate children of the locality. Its curriculum grew and earned recognition through the decades. In the year 1954, the Philippine government saw the need for establishing a teacher education college, which was built on the very same location. It was a boost to the institution, allowing it to offer undergraduate degrees. During the late 1970s, growth and transformation took place. In 1979, the teacher education college developed into a state university and consequently offered courses beyond the bounds of teacher education.
This step made the institution thinner to a wider student population in a more remarkable way and contributed much to the intellectual and economic development of the province. In the 1980s and 1990s, the university continued expanding its facilities and programs. There were openings of other campuses in different parts of Cavite and the curriculum was modernized to cater to the increasing requirements of the locality. The university also started engaging in research and extension services, which were aimed at the general welfare of its constituents. The university effectively stepped into the new era of the coming millennium. The newly formulated vision and mission were embraced by the university in 1999, spearheading greater endeavors toward quality education reaching out to the vast majority. The university began to widen up its access programs for underserved communities and initiated interventions to improve retention and graduation of students.
