Adamson University is a private Catholic university located in Manila, Philippines.

The university traces its roots to the Adamson School of Industrial Chemistry, founded in 1932 by Dr. George Lucas Adamson. A Greek chemist and industrialist, Dr. Adamson established the school with the goal of providing quality education in chemistry and related fields. The Adamson School of Industrial Chemistry was granted university status and renamed Adamson University in 1935. Throughout the following decades, the university expanded its offerings to include programs in engineering, commerce, and education. The university continued to grow and attract a larger student population, especially during the post-war period.

In the 1970s and 1980s, this university played a significant role in the country's economic development, producing skilled graduates in various fields. However, the university faced challenges during periods of political and economic instability.
