The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences is a private university located in Lima, Peru.
The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) was founded on January 5, 1994, by Law No. 26276. It was created to meet the growing demand for higher education in Peru, particularly in the fields of engineering, architecture, and business.
The UPC's first campus was opened in the Santiago de Surco district of Lima in 1994. The university started with four faculties: engineering, architecture, communications, and business. In 1998, the faculty of law was founded, and in 2000, the faculty of economics was founded.
In 2004, the UPC affiliated with Laureate International Universities, a global network of private universities. This affiliation gave the UPC access to Laureate's global resources and expertise, and helped the university to expand its academic offerings and international reach.
The UPC is known for its focus on practical, hands-on learning. The university has a strong track record of producing graduates who are highly sought-after by employers. The UPC is also one of the most international universities in Peru, with over 20% of its students coming from outside of the country.
The UPC has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WSCUC) since 2008. This accreditation means that the UPC's academic standards are recognized by universities and employers around the world.
