Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences

Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) is a public research university located in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) was established in 1967 as the Reactor School by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC). The school was originally aimed towards providing technical training to support Pakistan's nuclear energy infrastructure.

In 1976, the Reactor School was renamed the Centre for Nuclear Studies (CNS) and began offering degree programs in nuclear engineering. In 1997, the CNS was granted independent university status and became the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS).

PIEAS is a major center for research in Pakistan. Its faculty and students conduct cutting-edge research in a variety of fields, including nuclear energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, materials science, and biotechnology.

PIEAS has played a significant role in the development of Pakistan's nuclear energy program. It has trained and educated many of the scientists and engineers who have worked on Pakistan's nuclear power plants and research reactors.
