Lahore University of Management Sciences

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a private research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

The history of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) can be traced back to 1984, when Syed Babar Ali, a renowned businessman in Pakistan, recognized the shortage of qualified managers in the country. He envisioned a university that would provide rigorous academic and intellectual training and bring world-class education to students in Pakistan.

With the support of the business community, academia, and representatives of the government, Ali established LUMS in 1985. The university began with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, and its first batch of students graduated in 1988.

In 1994, LUMS started undergraduate programs in Economics and Computer Sciences.LUMS has grown rapidly since its founding. In 1986, the university moved to its current campus, which is located on 100 acres of land in the heart of Lahore. The campus is home to state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and residential halls.
