Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa

Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, or FedPolyNas and FPN, is a higher institution located in Nasarawa, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

Founded in 1983 by the Federal Government of Nasarawa, Nigeria, the primary idea behind the polytechnic was hinged on the provision of technical education alongside social advancements. This was to keep up with the high request for professionally competent manpower in several areas to enhance their own nation. The school took off in January 1984 with an initial registration of 220 students in two schools: the School of Environmental and Business Studies. While the institution gained a foothold, it operated out of Central Primary School as its makeshift headquarters in a low-profile fashion. This year saw the polytechnic attain a great feat when all the programs it offered started being accredited. This acclaim gave credence to the institution which quickly dissolved doubts about its motive of providing good education and raising the academic score.

The successful accreditation also gave a green light for the school to grow more in the years that followed, thus cementing the polytechnic's status in the field of education within Nigeria. In 1986, the polytechnic began its more diversified programs with higher national diploma offerings in the fields of business administration and management and accountancy. This was the dawn for advanced programs focusing on technological skills that would prepare business leaders. Other areas of vocational and professional advancements not only widened the institution's area of concentration but also attracted many student bodies eager for higher education in professional equipment fields. Today, the polytechnic Nasarawa is well-known to both Nigerian and international students. Expansion has been witnessed in student enrollment, range of courses, and campus development. The polytechnic today still struggles towards excellence with its professors offering professional learning.
