Universidade Lúrio

Lúrio University (UniLúrio) is a public higher education institution headquartered in Nampula, Mozambique.

Born from a desire to boost human and scientific potential in Mozambique, Lúrio University emerged in 2006. A presidential decree breathed life into this public institution, nestled in the northern city of Nampula. With a mission clear as day – to cultivate excellence in education and research, paving the way for both social integration and international impact – Lúrio embarked on its ambitious journey.

Its initial steps were marked by three vital faculties: Health Sciences, where budding doctors, dentists, and pharmacists honed their skills; Agricultural Sciences, nurturing minds to tackle food security challenges; and Social and Humanities Sciences, illuminating the tapestry of human culture and experience. As years passed, two more pillars rose – Engineering and Technology, shaping the future with innovation, and Economic and Legal Sciences, safeguarding fairness and prosperity.

Excellence, social responsibility, innovation, and internationalization – these are the guiding stars that illuminate Lúrio's path. As it stands tall amidst the challenges of northern Mozambique, one of the country's most resource-scarce regions, Lúrio serves as a beacon of hope and progress.
