Mohammed VI Polytechnic University

Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) is a private research university in Morocco. Founded in 2017, it is located in the city of Ben Guerir, about 70 kilometers east of Casablanca.

UM6P emerged as part of the "Green City" project, a major urban development project located just outside the historical city of Ben Guerir. The aim of the project was to create a model city of sustainability, with a special interest in promoting research, education and development in Africa. The university's establishment was announced by King Mohammed VI in 2010, and construction began on the campus in 2011.

The university also has a number of research centers, including the Centre for Sustainable Energy Research and Education (CERES), the Moroccan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MCIE), and the National Institute of Solar Energy Research (INES).

UM6P has a strong international orientation and has partnered with leading universities around the world, including Stanford University, Columbia University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The university is also a member of the Association of African Universities (AAU) and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).

UM6P is a rapidly growing university and is expected to play a major role in the development of Morocco's economy and society in the years to come.

In addition to its academic programs, UM6P is also committed to social responsibility. The university has a number of initiatives in place to support the local community, including a scholarship program for students from low-income families, a vocational training program for unemployed youth, and a micro-finance program for women entrepreneurs.
