The Université Alassane Ouattara (UAO) is a public university located in the city of Bouaké, Côte d'Ivoire.
The Université Alassane Ouattara (UAO) was founded in 1992 as the Centre universitaire de Bouaké. It was granted university status in 1995 and became the Université de Bouaké. In 2002, the university was temporarily relocated to Abidjan due to the Ivorian Civil War. It reopened in Bouaké in 2011.
The UAO has experienced significant growth in recent years. In 1992, it had just 2,000 students.
