University of Indonesia (UI) is a public university in Depok, West Java and Salemba, Jakarta, Indonesia. It is one of the oldest tertiary-level educational institutions in Indonesia, and is generally considered one of the most prestigious universities in the country.
The history of the University of Indonesia (UI) can be traced back to 1849, when the School of Medicine was founded in Batavia (now Jakarta) by the Dutch colonial government.
