The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a public research university in Clearwater Bay Peninsula, New Territories, Hong Kong. It was founded in 1991 by the British Hong Kong Government as the territory's third institution to be granted university status. It was established to support Hong Kong's future ambitions of becoming a center of knowledge advancement, economic growth, and influence in the Pearl River Delta Region.

HKUST began operations in 1991 with four schools: Science, Engineering, Business and Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
