University of La Sabana

The University of La Sabana is a private, Catholic university located in Chía, Cundinamarca, Colombia.

The history of the University of La Sabana can be traced back to the early 1970s, when a group of parents founded the Asociación para la Enseñanza (Aspaen) with the goal of promoting education in Colombia. In 1971, Aspaen established the INSE (Instituto Superior de Educación), a pioneer in distance education in the country and Latin America.

In 1979, the INSE was transformed into the University of La Sabana, a private, Catholic university with a focus on academic excellence, innovation, technology, and internationalization. The university's first campus was located in Bogotá, but it moved to its current location in Chía in 1983.
