EAFIT University

EAFIT University is a private university in Medellín, Colombia, founded in 1960 by a group of entrepreneurs in Medellín, Colombia. Its main goal was to educate professionals who would address new challenges in management, finance, and technology.

The university started as a "School of Management and Finance." Two-year technological programs were offered when its Institute of Technology division was created. The institution organized itself as a university in 1975, when it started offering five-year programs in engineering.

In the following years, EAFIT continued to expand its academic offerings, adding new schools and programs in the fields of social sciences, humanities, and the arts. In 1997, the university opened its School of Sciences and Humanities, and in 1999, it opened its School of Law. The university's fifth school, Economics and Finance, was opened in 2012.

Today, EAFIT University is one of the most prestigious universities in Colombia. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in a variety of disciplines. The university is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, which conduct cutting-edge research in a variety of fields.
