Xingtai University

Xingtai University is a university in Xingtai, Hebei Province, China, under the provincial government.

The roots of this public university stretch back to 1910, when it first sprouted as the Zhili Fourth Junior Normal School. Teacher education was its initial focus, and its legacy lives on in the historic buildings that still stand on campus, a testament to a century of shaping educators in China. In 1912, with the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the rise of the Republic of China, the institution underwent its first transformation, becoming the fourth primary school of Zhili Province (later known as Hebei Province). This shift reflected the changing political landscape and the growing emphasis on primary education.

The 20th century saw further evolution. In 1984, the school was upgraded to Xingtai Teachers College, solidifying its focus on teacher training. This period marked a time of dedication to nurturing future generations of educators. A significant chapter unfolded in 1996. Xingtai Teachers College merged with two other institutions: Xingtai Institute of Education and Xingtai Economic Management Cadre School. This consolidation broadened the university's scope, incorporating not just teacher training but also education and economic management disciplines. The newly formed entity became Xingtai Teachers College. Finally, in 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Xingtai Teachers College reached another milestone. It was upgraded to Xingtai College, signifying its expansion beyond teacher training and its emergence as a more comprehensive university.

The university's motto reflects its commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility. It emphasizes the importance of knowledge, integrity, and service, inspiring students to become well-educated and contributing members of society. Looking forward, the university aspires to become a leader in innovation and research. It is committed to providing its students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the 21st century. By fostering a culture of creativity and critical thinking, the university aims to prepare its graduates to address the challenges and opportunities of the future.
