Xihua University

Xihua University is a provincial public university in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

This university's history stretches back further than its official founding in 2003. It's actually the culmination of two long-standing institutions merging their legacies. One part of the story begins in 1960 with the establishment of the Sichuan Mechanical College of Agriculture. Focused on nurturing skilled professionals for China's agricultural development, this college laid the groundwork for the university's strong foundation in science and engineering.

The other branch of the story starts in 1971 with the founding of the Teacher's College. This institution nurtured educators who would shape future generations. By merging with the science and engineering college in 2003, the newly formed university embraced a broader mission of fostering well-rounded individuals equipped with both technical expertise and a dedication to education. This merger wasn't the only significant event in the university's history. In 2008, it further expanded its reach by incorporating the Sichuan Economic Management Institute. This addition broadened the university's academic offerings to encompass economics and management disciplines, solidifying its position as a comprehensive university.

The university's motto, "Diligence, Virtue and Excellence," reflects its commitment to fostering well-rounded graduates.  It provides a comprehensive education encompassing a wide range of disciplines, including economics, management, science, engineering, liberal arts, fine arts, and sports. This diversity ensures that students can find programs that align with their academic interests and career aspirations. Campus life at this university is vibrant and enriching. Students can engage in various extracurricular activities and clubs, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The university's location within the hi-tech zone provides ample opportunities for internships and industry collaborations, giving students valuable real-world experience to complement their academic studies.

Looking forward, the university aspires to become a leading institution for higher education, renowned for its academic excellence, innovative research, and commitment to social responsibility. It aims to cultivate future generations of leaders who are not only knowledgeable but also possess strong moral character and the drive to make a positive impact on society.
