Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology

Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology is a well-regarded public university in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China.

This esteemed university's story stretches back to 1895, when it first sprouted as a school dedicated to mining and metallurgy. It was a pivotal time in China's history, marked by a keen interest in modernization and Western learning. During its early years, the institution underwent several name changes, reflecting its evolving focus and the nation's broader educational reforms. A significant turning point came in 1959 when the school transformed into the Xi'an Metallurgical Institute. This shift mirrored China's emphasis on industrial development during that era. In 1963, recognizing the growing importance of construction alongside metallurgy, the name was revised to Xi'an Institute of Metallurgy and Construction Engineering.

With the approval of the Ministry of Education, the institute shed its previous identities and embraced its current name: Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology.
