Tianjin Normal University

Tianjin Normal University is a public research university founded in 1958 in Tianjin, China.

The roots of this prominent teacher education institution stretch back further than its official founding in 1958. Its story begins in 1904 with the establishment of a women's school, laying the foundation for a long tradition of nurturing young minds. In 1911, this institution merged with another women's normal school, marking a significant step towards the university it would become. Though formally established in 1958 as a teacher training college, the university's focus on pedagogy remained unwavering. Initially named Tianjin Teachers' College, it underwent a name change in 1982, becoming the current university moniker. Nearly two decades later, in 1999, it underwent a significant transformation by merging with two other institutions: the Tianjin Junior College of Teacher Education and the Tianjin Institute of Education. This strategic merger solidified its position as a leader in teacher education, bringing together a wealth of experience and expertise.
