Shaanxi University of Technology

Shaanxi University of Technology, located in Hanzhong, Shaanxi, China.

This university's history stretches back further than its official founding in 2001. It's a story of two institutions merging their strengths to create a well-rounded educational powerhouse. The roots go back to 1965, when a branch of Peking University was established in Hanzhong to support the nation's "third-line construction" strategy. This branch focused on technical expertise, particularly relevant during that period.  When Peking University withdrew in 1978, the Shaanxi Institute of Technology rose from its foundation, carrying forward the legacy of technical education.

Meanwhile, the Hanzhong Teacher's College, with a long-standing history in education, nurtured future generations of educators.  In 2001, recognizing the value of a comprehensive approach to learning, these two institutions, the Shaanxi Institute of Technology and the Hanzhong Teacher's College, merged to form the current university. This merger symbolized a commitment to fostering not just technical prowess but also well-rounded individuals with strong educational backgrounds.

The campus itself reflects this blend.
