Northeast Dianli University

Northeast Dianli University is located in Jilin, Jilin Province, China. 

Its story begins in 1949, a time of immense change for the newly established People's Republic of China. Recognizing the critical need for skilled professionals to drive the nation's development, the seeds were sown for this esteemed university. It sprouted from the Changchun Electrical Machinery Advanced Professional School, the first of its kind dedicated to electric power engineering. The university's name underwent several transformations, reflecting its evolving identity. In 1958, it became the Jilin Electric Power Institute, solidifying its focus on undergraduate education. By 1978, with a growing reputation and expanding curriculum, it earned the title of Northeast China Institute of Electric Power Engineering. The year 2000 ushered in a new era of collaboration. The university adopted a joint-building model, partnering with both central and local governments to further its development. This strategic shift fueled further advancements in research and facilities. In 2005, a significant chapter closed and a new one opened with the name change to Northeast Dianli University. This new moniker reflected the university's comprehensive approach to electric power education. The final name change to Northeast Electric Power University in its English form in 2016 solidified its international presence.
