Longyan University

Longyan University is a public undergraduate university located in Longyan City, Fujian Province, China.

The year was 1958, a time when China prioritized nurturing skilled educators to fuel national development. It was in this context that a public university, initially known as the Higher Normal College, was established. Its mission was clear: to cultivate a generation of talented teachers who would shape young minds across the region.

For over four decades, the university diligently served this purpose, laying a strong foundation in teacher training. However, in 2001, a turning point arrived. Recognizing the evolving needs of the nation's workforce, the university embarked on a transformative journey. It merged with a prestigious technical school, bringing together the worlds of education and industry. This fruitful union not only broadened the university's academic scope but also paved the way for a new chapter.

In 2004, the university officially received its current name, symbolizing the culmination of this transformation. The motto, "Integrity and Diligence," became a cornerstone of its philosophy. It emphasized the importance of both moral uprightness and a strong work ethic, qualities essential for success in any field. This core value continues to guide the university's mission to this day.
