Henan University of Urban Construction is a public university in Pingdingshan, Henan Province, China.

The university's roots trace back to 1973, fulfilling a crucial need for skilled professionals to navigate the burgeoning complexities of modern urban environments. Its history is one of continuous evolution, adapting to meet the demands of a rapidly changing field. The story begins with the establishment of two key institutions: the Pingdingshan Urban Construction Environmental Protection School founded in 1983 and the Wuhan Urban Construction College's Henan Branch established two years later. These institutions laid the groundwork for the future university. Over time, it underwent various transformations, including periods known as the Henan Urban Construction College and the Pingdingshan Institute of Technology. A significant milestone arrived in 2002 with the Ministry of Education's approval, elevating the institution to the status of an undergraduate college. This recognition marked a turning point, solidifying its position as a premier center for urban construction education. Six years later, in 2008, it received its current name – Henan University of Urban Construction – reflecting its growing stature and comprehensive academic offerings.
