Fujian Normal University

Fujian Normal University is a public university in Fuzhou, China. The university boasts a long and distinguished history, stretching back to 1907. 

Its roots lie in the founding of the Fujian Superior Normal School, a teacher-training institution established by the renowned late-Qing scholar Chen Baochen, who even tutored China's last emperor. Over the years, the university underwent several transformations. It merged with institutions like the former Hwa-Nan Women's College of Arts and Sciences and Fukien Christian University. In 1953, it reached a pivotal point with the establishment of Fujian Normal University. The name underwent a brief change in 1972 before returning to Fujian Normal University, which remains its current designation. Throughout its journey, the university has nurtured a strong legacy of teacher education.
