Diego Portales University

The Diego Portales University (UDP) is a private Chilean university, founded in Santiago, Chile.

La Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) was founded in 1982 by the founders of the Professional Institute of Sales and Advertising (IPEVE), which had been in existence for almost 20 years. The UDP was initially authorized to offer undergraduate programs in law, economics, and advertising.

In 1989, the UDP was authorized to offer postgraduate programs. In 1990, the UDP opened its second campus in Huechuraba.

In 2004, the UDP became one of the first private universities in Chile to achieve institutional accreditation from the National Undergraduate Accreditation Commission (CNAP) in three areas: Institutional Management, Undergraduate Teaching, and Equipment and Infrastructure.

In 2019, the UDP became a member of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities.
