University of Alberta

The University of Alberta (U of A) is a public research university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The history of the University of Alberta (U of A) dates back to 1906, when the University Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The act established the U of A as a single, public provincial university. The university's first president, Henry Marshall Tory, was appointed in 1907, and the university opened its doors to students in 1908.
