University of Ngaoundéré

The University of Ngaoundéré (French: Université de Ngaoundéré) is a public university located in Ngaoundéré, Adamawa Region in Cameroon.

The history of the University of Ngaoundéré can be traced back to 1973, when the Ngaoundéré University Centre was established. The center was initially a satellite campus of the University of Yaoundé, but it became increasingly autonomous over the years. In 1993, the center was transformed into a full-fledged university by Presidential decree.

The university's early years were marked by rapid growth. The number of students increased from a few hundred in the early 1980s to over 10,000 by the mid-1990s. The university also expanded its academic offerings, opening new faculties and schools.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the university faced a number of challenges, including budget cuts, student protests, and staff shortages. However, the university has overcome these challenges and continues to grow and develop.

Today, the University of Ngaoundéré is one of the leading universities in Cameroon. It is known for its high-quality education and its commitment to research. The university is also involved in a number of international partnerships and collaborations.
