The Medical University of Sofia (MUS) is a public university in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The Medical University of Sofia (MUS) was founded in 1917 as a medical faculty of Sofia University. It was established by a decree of Tsar Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, and it was the first medical school in Bulgaria.
The first classes at MUS were held in 1918, and the first graduates graduated in 1922. In the early years, MUS was a small school with only a few professors and students. However, it quickly grew in size and reputation, and by the 1930s, it was one of the leading medical schools in Europe.
During World War II, MUS was closed for a short period of time. However, it reopened in 1945, and it continued to grow and develop in the postwar years. In 1950, MUS became an independent university, and in 1995, it was renamed the Medical University of Sofia.
Today, MUS is a leading medical university in Europe. MUS is also a major center for medical research. The university has several research institutes, and its faculty members are involved in a wide range of research projects. MUS has made significant contributions to the field of medicine, and its research has helped to improve the lives of millions of people around the world.
