São Paulo State University
State University of São Paulo is one of the three public universities in the state of São Paulo in Brazil.
The history of São Paulo State University (UNESP) can be traced back to the early 1900s, when a number of isolated colleges and faculties were founded throughout the state of São Paulo. In the 1950s and 1960s, the São Paulo state government began to create more colleges and faculties outside of the capital city, in order to increase access to higher education for students in rural areas.
In 1976, the São Paulo state government unified these colleges and faculties into a single university, UNESP. The goal of this unification was to create a more efficient and effective system of higher education in the state of São Paulo.
UNESP is committed to providing high-quality education and research opportunities for all of its students and faculty. The university also plays an important role in the social and economic development of the state of São Paulo and Brazil.
