Leading University, commonly known as LU, is a private university of Bangladesh.

Leading University, or LU as it's commonly known, has carved a unique path in Bangladesh's educational landscape. Established in 2001, the university's story is one of steady growth, innovation, and a unwavering commitment to shaping future leaders. 

LU's journey began with the vision of industrialist Ragib Ali, who dreamt of providing quality education in his hometown of Sylhet. In 2001, the university commenced operations from rented premises in Bandar Bazar, offering a limited number of undergraduate programs. Despite the modest beginnings, LU's focus on practical education and student development resonated with the local community.

The early years were marked by rapid expansion. New programs were introduced, attracting talented faculty and a diverse student body. In 2006, LU moved to its own purpose-built campus in Ragib Nagar, marking a significant milestone. The spacious campus, equipped with modern facilities, fostered a vibrant academic environment and nurtured a strong sense of community among students.
