Habiganj Agricultural University

Habiganj Agricultural University (HAU) is a public agricultural university in Sylhet Division, Bangladesh.

The story of Habiganj Agricultural University is one of recent inception and rapid growth. In 2014, the seeds of its establishment were sown when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced its creation during a visit to Habiganj. Four years later, in 2019, the Bangladeshi Cabinet passed the Habiganj Agriculture University Act, officially solidifying its existence. Finally, in 2020, Habiganj Agricultural University proudly opened its doors to students, eager to contribute to the nation's agricultural future.

Though young, HAU has ambitious goals. It aspires to be a beacon of excellence, fusing modern agricultural knowledge with traditional values. Its mission focuses on tackling challenges like diminishing land, strained soil health, and a growing population, aiming to boost productivity in crops, livestock, and fisheries.
