Dhaka National Medical College

Dhaka National Medical College is a private medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dhaka National Medical College's roots stretch back to 1925, when it began as the Dhaka National Medical Institute, birthed amidst the Non-cooperation movement against British rule. Situated near Bahadur Shah Park, it served as a beacon of healthcare accessibility and embodied the spirit of independence.

During the pivotal Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, its walls offered sanctuary to freedom fighters, a testament to its unwavering commitment to serving the nation. Though medical studies ceased in 1965, the institute retained its vital role as a general hospital for the community.

In 1994, a new chapter unfolded. Rechristened as Dhaka National Medical College, it proudly resumed its mission of medical education. Inaugurated by the Prime Minister on October 15th, 1994, the college embarked on a path of academic excellence, offering programs like MBBS and BDS through its affiliation with Dhaka University.
