Dhaka International University

Dhaka International University is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The seeds of Dhaka International University (DIU) were sown in 1994, during a period of burgeoning private universities in Bangladesh. Driven by the vision of renowned academician and humanist, Late Alhaj Professor Dr. A. B. M. Mafizul Islam Patwari, who was the former Chairman of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka, DIU officially came into being on April 7th, 1995.

From its inception, DIU embraced a unique mission: to combine traditional Bengali values with a modern, international outlook. This commitment to academic excellence and cultural grounding resonated with students and families, and DIU quickly established itself as a leading private university in Bangladesh.

Recognized as a non-profit institution, DIU operates under the Non-Government University Acts of 1992 and 1998. Today, DIU boasts two vibrant campuses in Dhaka, offering a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields.
