Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is a renowned public university in Bangladesh, well-known for its excellence in engineering and technological education.

In 1968 the seeds of CUET were sown with the establishment of the "Engineering College, Chittagong" under the University of Dhaka. Back then, it offered a modest selection of bachelor's degrees in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.

During 1980s-1990s, the seeds of CUET were sown with the establishment of the "Engineering College, Chittagong" under the University of Dhaka. In 2003, BIT Chittagong transformed into a full-fledged public university, proudly christened "Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology" (CUET).
