Chittagong Medical College

Chittagong Medical College (CMC) is a public medical college in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Chittagong Medical College (CMC) was established in 1957, amidst the growing need for medical professionals in the then East Pakistan. It was the second medical college in the region, following the prestigious Dhaka Medical College. In its initial years, CMC operated out of the Chittagong General Hospital, with limited resources and infrastructure.

Despite the challenges, CMC steadily grew and expanded. In 1959, the college established its own hospital, the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), with an initial capacity of 120 beds. The present six-story CMCH building was completed in 1969, marking a significant milestone in the college's development. Over the years, CMC has added new departments, academic programs, and facilities, becoming a premier medical education and healthcare institution in Bangladesh.
