University of Bahrain

The University of Bahrain (UOB) is a public university in Bahrain. It is the largest institution of higher education in Bahrain, with three campuses (Sakhir, Isa Town, and Salmaniya).

The history of the University of Bahrain (UOB) can be traced back to 1968, when the Gulf Polytechnic was established. The Gulf Polytechnic was a technical college that offered training in a variety of fields, including engineering, science, and business.

In 1979, the University College of Arts, Science and Education (UCASE) was established. UCASE was a four-year college that offered degrees in a variety of humanities and social science disciplines.

In 1986, the Gulf Polytechnic and UCASE were merged to form the University of Bahrain. The new university was established by Amiri Decree No. 12 /1986.
